Welcome to the Wahoo Challenge Fishing Tournament home page!  Thank you for visiting and we hope you take a few moments to find out more about this exciting event held every fall in Morehead City NC.

The Wahoo Challenge is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the community by supporting two wonderful charities: the Take a Kid Fishing Foundation, Inc. and the Crystal Coast Hospice House Foundation.  The tournament has been extremely successful in that the event has raised over $200,000 for these two well deserving charities.   

The Crystal Coast Hospice House Foundation was officially formed in 2008 with its own board of directors working very hard to move forward with a dedicated Hospice House in Carteret County.  The Take a Kid Fishing Foundation is a North Carolina based nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of disabled and disadvantaged youth through exposure to the outdoors and an opportunity to go saltwater fishing simply because “every kid deserves a chance”.  

Our 6th annual fishing tournament will be held October 13th - 16th, 2010 in Morehead City, NC.  The 4 day event will include food, vendors and festivities under the tent at Katherine Davis Park and weigh-ins on the Morehead City waterfront each day.  The Wahoo fishing along the NC Coast in the fall is world class and our participants are able to choose 2 of the 3 fishing days to try to capture first place.  The Executive Board, Working Board, Volunteers and your Tournament Director are all looking forward to an exciting and successful event.
